David Abazs, Chair, called the regular meeting of the Crystal Bay Town Board of supervisors to order at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance at the Clair Nelson Intermodal Transportation Center.

Present: David Abazs, Deb Johansen, Lise Abazs, Paul Hartshorn, Doug Perfetto, Pam Melby.

Unless otherwise stated, all actions have been approved by unanimous yea vote.

Motion by David Abazs, Seconded by Pam Melby to approve the minutes of the last meeting.

Motion by Paul Hartshorn, seconded by Pam Melby to approve agenda.

Motion by Paul Hartshorn, seconded by Pam Melby to accept Treasurers Report.

Motion by Paul Hartshorn, seconded by Pam Melby to pay bills presented for payment.

PUBLIC CONCERNS

Pam received questions from community members about Crystal Bay Township having a Facebook page. Pam will follow up for next meeting with more information.

ROAD AND BRIDGE

Doug gave road report. Reports roads are all looking well and is planning on looking at cleaning out culverts along with Lake County.
There was a discussion on the proposed cartway by Steven George on the Blesner Lake Road. It was suggested we let the County handle, with David Abazs being the pivot person for Crystal Bay Township.
Wolf Ridge Road – Gary Olson got Township truck and winged ELC and Park Hill Roads.
The question was raised whether drivers other than Township employees are covered by our insurance while driving Township equipment. Deb will find out.

CLAIR NELSON CENTER

No report from Honor other than St. Urho’s was a great success!

NEW BUSINESS

After the last snow storm it has become evident the big plow truck is wearing out. Doug Perfetto is planning on starting the process of looking for a newer truck with a bit more power. He has been having trouble getting up steep hills. He will have some information and estimates for the next meeting.

David Abazs, Honor Schauland, Kaare Melby, and Peter Harris will be attending award ceremony in St. Cloud, MN on March 28th. Crystal Bay Township received a 2018 Clean Energy Community Award (CECA) Achievement Award. There will be an MPR Radio spot done about the award in the future.

Motion by Paul Hartshorn, seconded by Pam Melby to pay for hotel rooms for 4 for attending the award ceremony in St. Cloud.

There was a discussion about insulating the garage by next fall to save on propane costs.

Motion by Pam Melby, seconded by Paul Hartshorn, to adjourn meeting at 7:35 p.m. until April 17, 2018 @ 7:00 p.m. at the Clair Nelson Intermodal Transportation Center.
