David Abazs, Chair, called the regular meeting of the Crystal Bay Town Board of Supervisors to order at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance at the Clair Nelson Intermodal Transportation Center.

Present: David Abazs, Deb Johansen, Lise Abazs, Paul Hartshorn, Doug Perfetto, Pam Melby and Pete Walsh.

Unless otherwise stated, all actions have been approved by unanimous yea vote.

Motion by Pam Melby, seconded by Paul Hartshorn to approve the minutes of the last meeting.

Motion by Paul Hartshorn, seconded by Pam Melby to approve agenda.

Motion by Paul Hartshorn, seconded by Pam Melby to accept Treasurer’s Report.

PUBLIC CONCERNS

Pete Walsh gave report and update on Lake County and this years’ budget, which is down by 4.54% from last year. Broadband is for sale now that it is up and running. There are a few interested parties. Doug Perfetto received a portable radio thru Pete / County for use in plow trucks. Pete is still pursuing funding in Washington D.C. for Air Base Road. Pete reported on the Finland Fire Department. the pumper truck has been updated. A used truck was purchased – $40,000. It has 18,000 miles on it. Also some extraction tools were purchased. Fire Department could use a few more volunteers; few current ones will be retiring soon. Last year there were 19 calls with Silver Bay.
Pete talked about Housing / Potential County Lands available.
There is funding available through AEOA for housing improvements. The funds are not getting used and future numbers are based on current previous years use. Tom Lovdahl is Chairman of HRA Board.
Pam will touch base with the County about linking our Township website with theirs.

ROAD AND BRIDGE

Doug gave report on roads. Abandoned cars left on Township roads have been getting in the way of plowing. No problems with snow plowed across roads this year.

CLAIR NELSON CENTER

Honor gave report on Friends of Finland and Rec Hall activities. On Jan 6th – 5:30 to 7:30 there will be a Community Conversation. Chicken and dumplings will be served and child care will be provided.
A grant was applied for from the Bush Foundation for a Local Food System. Honor is asking for letter of support from Township.
Motion by David Abazs, seconded by Paul Hartshorn to approve and send out letter of support to the Bush Foundation.
There was an attempted break-in to the box at RV site again. Paul will rebuild it in the spring.
Paul has been having trouble with the snow blower. It is in the process of being fixed.

NEW BUSINESS

Next meeting – January 16, 2018, both David and Lise Abazs will be out of town.
